The International trade fair presented a variety of interactive events such as teambuilding, networking and a dinner in a unique setting.  The dinner was organized to enable connections to be made with colleagues from the Asian tourism industry. The above mentioned trade fair was held in Penang, Malaysia, and more than 2,000 business meetings took place, organized in advance by means of a virtual agenda, enable each exhibitor to make the best use of their time during the fair.

The WTM Connect Asia offers a great opportunity for companies to exhibit their products to international travel buyers with the intention of doing business in a region full of potential for growth as the Asian market.

The head of Marketing for Visit7Wonders in Madrid, Lou Stokes, said, “It was a productive fair with many meetings and the possibility of making new contacts in the Asian market as well as being able to present the V7W project to new colleagues”.

Lou Stokes went on to say that during the WTM Connect Asia she had the opportunity to meet with travel agencies in China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia amongst others.

One of the most important meetings during the fair was with the international tourism company Cox & Kings, with whom it is intended to join forces to develop tourist packages that include accommodation in ancient palaces, the campsites of luxury, spiritual journeys and many other unique experiences. Also for them to promote South America, especially Iguazu Falls to their clients.

According to Lou Stokes, “recently we have seen a change in the form of tourism. Travelers do not seek cheap trips to the beaches like they used too, they are increasingly interested in searching for unique experiences, a relentless pursuit of the intangible, that feeling that makes us feel that the journey has been more than just a leisure trip, but rather an unforgettable experience”.
