On June 5, and due to the World Environmental Day, the Table Mountain cableway  announced its objective to increase the recycling of waste from the current level of 55% to 80% by the year 2021.

“We are aware of our role and responsibilities as guardians of this world wide recognized attraction” said the Cableway CEO Wahida Parker. “Taking this into account and our need to continue improving, our goal is that 80% of all our waste is recycled in the next two years”.

As a world famous tour operator, the cableway has implemented several measures in order to reduce the volume of waste produced, such as the use of recyclable tableware, a full-time internal recycler and the reduction in the amount of packaging by removing boxes or bags used for deliveries.
