The Australian Reptile Park launched a global campaign to help save the Komodo dragon, a species that is endangered by the activities of humans. The Komodo dragon is located on the Komodo Island, selected as one of the 7 Wonders of Nature in 2007.

The money raised by the park will support the Komodo Survival Program which aims to devise management and conservation plans for the dragons and their natural habitat based on sound biological studies.

“They’re absolutely incredible creatures but they are really struggling in the wild,” Australian Reptile Park’s Head of Reptiles Daniel Rumsey said in a statement. “That’s why the Australian Reptile Park decided to highlight the work that the Komodo Survival Program is doing and encouraging the public to support this initiative.”
