Last Friday, August 9, the millionth tourist arrived at Iguazu National Park and was recognized for it. The lucky ones turned out to be the members of a family from the Argentine province of Chaco, David Almirón, Giselle Alegre and Pía María.
The family was surprised with a letter from the president of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, in which he congratulated them for being the millionth visitors, and highlights that the Iguazu National Park is one of the oldest in the country and the one with the greatest biodiversity. He wrote: “The Falls are one of the 7 Wonders of the World, so I hope you enjoy this experience and that when the adventure ends, you want to return”. He ended by saying: “Welcome to Iguazu!”
The president of Iturem Leopoldo Lucas said to the press that “today we exceed one million visitors and we are heading to break a new record in 2019, this fills us with joy and is a product of the effort and the excellent joint work that we do every day between the private and public sector”.
