Between January and July, more than 4.3 million visitors entered the country that hosts the Iguazu Falls, which implies an interannual growth of 9.4%. Of that figure, 1.8 million corresponded to arrivals by air, setting a record for airports throughout the country with an interannual increase of 19.3%.
Gustavo Santos, Secretary of Tourism of the Nation, said: “Tourism is employment, more foreign tourists in our country is more employment for all Argentines. Each new month shows an increase in visitor arrivals and sets a record in the history of the measurements, like now, that a tourist arrives in Argentina every 5 seconds. This reflects the work we have been doing since the beginning of our management.”
