The South African Tourism team launched two TV campaigns asking citizens to not travel now, to heed the president’s call to #StayHome to stop the spread of the virus. Both the videos highlight the fact that if we stay home today, we’ll be able to travel again anytime soon.
The videos show picturesque shots of many South African tourist attractions, such as Table Mountain -one of the New 7 Wonders of the World- but with nobody in sight, further highlighting the importance of everyone to be responsible and stay safe.
The South African Tourism chief executive, Sisa Ntshona, said in a statement: “Stay home and consider travelling later. Let us all act responsibly and play a part in getting the world back on track so we can visit the world again.”
