In a special letter that has been released on social media, the Founder and President of the New 7 Wonders Foundation raised a message of hope amid the pandemic: the Coronavirus will be defeated, and the Wonders will always shine again!
Many of the official New 7 Wonders locations are closed to the public as an implemented measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus contagion. However, Weber is convinced of the resilience that Wonders have to overcome any obstacle, just as they have done in the past.
The President of New 7 Wonders Foundation assures that people will return with greater energy and motivation to see the New 7 Wonders of the World and the New 7 Wonders of Nature. He stated that “there will be a bigger desire and demand to visit places that have meaning and purpose, as many of us are presently questioning real values.”
There are several proposals that the New 7 Wonders Foundation are carrying out to make the most of these moments of social isolation For example, the #view7wonders initiative across New 7 Wonders social media platforms, allows people to virtually visit all the Wonders via video content. The New 7 Wonders Foundation also continuous the 7 Symbols of Peace campaign across the globe.
Weber also announced that the official National 7 Wonders campaigns will be released soon, “to those nations that want to honour their own national sites and areas whilst also growing and supporting national tourism, learning and discovery”. The New 7 Wonders Foundation is aware that tourism is one of the key tools that the economy has to grow, and is willing to do everything possible to promote it once the pandemic is over, as it will soon be.
