The Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu -and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World- will start receiving visitors again from July 1. According to Peru’s Trade and Tourism Ministry, the move is designed to boost the country’s tourism sector.
According to the national order, the offer will apply to public service employees, children and pensioners whether national or foreign between July and December. The visitors must respect the protocols and sanitary guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health in order to avoid the virus spread.
This measure not only applies to Peru’s main tourist attraction and Wonder of the World, but also to other 54 archaeological sites, museums and historical places managed by the Ministry of Culture, as well as others 22 protected natural areas.
