The Iguazú National Park, on the Argentinian side of the Falls, opens its doors to Puerto Iguazú residents for the first time this Saturday after three months without visitors. People visiting this New 7 Wonder of Nature will only be allowed for recreational walks.
Tourism minister of Misiones, José María Arrúa, stated that “this is the result of the effort made by people from Misiones and the tourism sector that knew how to reinvent itself, as to get prepared for the new normality”.
To guarantee the social distancing and biosafety protocols, only 200 visitors will be received daily, arranged in groups of 50.
The Wonder of Nature can only be visited on weekends, with previous shifts taken via WhatsApp and permission from the Digital Missions App. In a second stage, it is intended to replicate this modality at Provincial Parks and Jesuit Reductions.
