The British red carpet label, Ralph & Russo, launched its first digital couture show using virtual avatar Hauli and the New 7 Wonders of the World as background. According to the designers, “many of the locations came to directly influence the silhouettes and embellishments used throughout the collection”.
The model visited virtually the Taj Mahal. The Great Wall of China, Chichén Itzá in Mexico, Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer, the lost city of Machu Picchu, Petra ancient city and Rome’s Colosseum.
Hauli was created through Artificial Intelligence with the help of a Korean developer, and “the muse is a strong and beautiful black woman who travels to the Seven Wonders of the World, pushing forward conversations on diversity and embraces fashion’s role in cultural appreciation”.
The couture show took place last week, and due to its digital setting its audience was open to anyone, meaning that the New 7 Wonders of the World shined brightly for the spectators.
