ITB Berlin and the Berlin Travel Festival will organise this hybrid event as a way to show the industry different ways in which they can exit the crisis together. ‘We Love Travel – a tourism recovery pop-up’ will encounter the extensive experience of ITB Berlin and the fresh spirit of the festival.
From October 16t to 18, the event will gather tourism professionals, hoteliers, restaurateurs, travellers and content creators, along with Instagrammers and bloggers. According to the official statement, the event’s hybrid concept “will enable visitors to attend in person as well as experience fascinating content in a virtual space”.
The co-founder and managing director of the Berlin Travel Festival, Bernd Neff, stated that “right now, how travel will change exactly is something we can only guess at. That makes it all the more important to take an early look at the various scenarios in terms of priorities, safety needs, sustainability and other considerations and work on innovative strategies together”.
ITB Berlin is considered the largest tourism industry fair in the world, followed by the World Travel Market in London, and then for the Spanish sector the FITUR in Madrid. In 2020 only the FITUR has taken place so far (in January).
