The WTM Latin America organized the virtual meeting Plans for the resumption of tourism in Latin America with exponents from different nations of the southern cone. Among the attending countries were Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Argentina, home to one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the Iguazú Falls.
The virtual event worked three specific topics: Measures to assist and reactivate tourism, Protocols and Perspectives of the Region and Intraregional Tourism.
Argentina was represented by the Executive Secretary of the National Institute of Tourism Promotion of Argentina, Ricardo Sosa, who announced the generation of Sanitary Protocols, the policies established to promote responsible tourism, work with different markets, bilateral and multilateral agreements and advocated for the unity of Latin America as a regional tourist destination.
“With this participation, we reaffirm our position in the region and inform everything that we are generating in terms of promotion. This way we were able to expose our digital campaigns, the development of webinars for professionals in the sector and short-term reports, among a large number of other activities we did and will continue doing”, summarized Sosa.
Also present at the meeting were Germán Cardoso,Minister of Tourism of Uruguay; José Luis Uriarte,Undersecretary of Tourism of Chile; Sofía Montiel de Afara, Minister of Tourism of Paraguay; Julián Guerrero,Vice Minister of Tourism of Colombia, and Gloria Guevara, (President and CEO of the WTTC).
