The World Travel and Tourism Council has given México “Safe Travels” stamp, as a way to recognize the country’s successful measures in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. The Yucatán Peninsula is one of the rewarded sites and also home to Chichén Itzá, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
Quintana Roo’s tourism board director, Dario Flota, stated that “this certification program aims to maintain the highest sanitary measures for the prevention and containment of Covid-19 and generates confidence among travelers, partners and the community”.
The World Travel and Tourism Council stamp will allow travellers to recognise governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols. This is a way to ensure consumers can experience “Safe Travels”.
