The Jeju Tourism Association revealed that the numbers of local and international visitors to this Wonder of Nature has grown significantly, taking into account the actual circonstances. Almost 140 thousand tourists arrived during the last month, which is a hopeful digit.
However, these numbers are not fortuite. South Korea’s government has been implementing different economic policies in order to revive the tourism sector, one of the most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
One of the most successful measure is the implementation of night tours: according to the Korea Tourism Organization, it was a way to encourage people to utilize the quieter hours after the sun sets and witness the vibrancy of South Korea in the non-rush night hours.
The Jeju Tourism Association stated that the tour bus will run until October 3 every Friday and Saturday, covering tourist attractions in downtown and coastal areas.
