The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) announced that it will reopen its doors to all local travellers from Tuesday, 1 September.
According to TMACC’s managing director, Wahilda Parker, this reopening is “just in time for Tourism Month, South Africans now have an opportunity to explore their country and its rich diversity of natural treasures, and we invite visitors to come experience our very own New7Wonders of Nature.”
As a way to ensure physical distance, the cableway will operate between 8am and 3pm from Monday to Sunday with a maximum of 26 people per cable car ride. All passengers will have to wear a mask and hand sanitiser will also be provided at the lower and top stations.
Parker also stated that the cableway would undergo a deep clean every 24 hours and would be sanitised after every ride. Tickets can be purchased on the official website since the removal of physical tickets, “not only is this beneficial for hygienic reasons, reducing contact points, but it also fits in with our long-term environmental strategy to go paperless”, Parker added.
