According to the projections of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), Mexico will finish the year with the arrival of 44.7 million tourists, both foreign and domestic. The government assures that the last months of 2020 will be a key point for the country that hosts one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, Chichén Itzá.

 

In an official statement, the authorities informed that “now the outlook is positive: after reaching the bottom in April and May, the months of June and July showed a slight recovery, which is expected to continue gradually until the end of the year”.

 

According to the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, it is estimated that the average hotel occupancy will exceed 50% during the last weeks of 2020.
