The authorities of Foz de Iguazú, home of the Iguazú Falls in Argentina, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, met last week in an emergency committee to seek solutions to the crisis in the tourism sector.
The minister of Tourism of the province of Misiones, José María Arrúa, stated that “we have to agree on how to get out of this together, generating actions so that the impact is smaller. We will continue with the differential treatment of Puerto Iguazú. For this reason, the Government is taking exceptional measures”
Among the measures implemented by the government are the cancellation of interest on the energy service bills, and the expansion of aid to the independent tourism worker in Iguazú. The Government is also working on the pre-purchase program for tourist packages to reactivate tourist establishments.
