Machu Picchu will start receiving tourists next November 1, and authorities announced the new biosecurity measures to protect visitors. All entrance tickets to visit the Wonder of the World for the first 15 days of November are sold out.

 

The Governor of Cusco, Jean Paul Benavente, informed that it was a joint work along with the Regional Health Directorate (Diresa), the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur), municipalities, and business associations. 

 

All tourism sector employees -nearly 115.000- will be monitored, according to the governor they “will conduct the epidemiological follow-up inspection on all of them in order to avoid an outbreak”.
