From November 4 to 25, the 2020 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Culture & Tourism Showcase will take place in Seoul. People can explore the region’s diverse charms from the comfort of the country that hosts Jeju Island, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
Tourism Showcase 2020 program will run a series of events where people can plan future trips through the region. This showcase also aims to promote the countries’ lifestyle products, musical instruments and books, as well as regional gastronomies.
The ASEAN-Korea Center’s secretary-general, Lee Hyuk, stated that Southeast Asian countries were among the most-loved tourist destinations for Koreans as 10 million tourists had visited the region in 2019. In this regard, “the ASEAN-Korea Center is organizing the ASEAN Culture Tourism Showcase 2020 to provide Koreans with the chance to relieve their nostalgia for traveling, while simultaneously offering the opportunity to deepen their understanding of culture, tourism and food of the ASEAN countries.”
