Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy launched a new incentive programme to draw domestic travellers to 12 tourist destinations across the country such as Belitung Island, Yogyakarta, Bali, Lombok, and Manado. The main goal is to replicate the success achieved in Komodo Island, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
With the Big Promo programme, the government has prepared 50,000 vouchers to help subsidise tourism expenses, comprising a 225,000 rupiah (US$16) voucher which can be spent on staycations, tours and attractions, as well as meal and shopping vouchers.
The vouchers can be redeemed by domestic travellers when they purchase deals offered by participating hotels, restaurants and travel agencies on the official website until the end of 2020.
