A recent report about global travel trends showed an insight of the new travelling mindset and less crowded destinations surrounded by nature seem to be tourists first choice. In this sense, the New 7 Wonders destinations will be an important factor in the new normal since nearly 70% of participants showed an interest in sustainable travel.
The survey conducted by American Express asked travelers from seven countries including Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India, the United Kingdom and the United States, about their thoughts concerned about future travelling plans. Almost 64% of respondents indicated that they are willing to make sacrifices such as giving up social media for a month in order to travel again.
Nearly 80% of respondents indicated wanting to travel in 2021 to relieve the stresses from 2020, since “having a trip planned in the future gives them something to look forward to”. 82% pointed out that they would choose luxury travel destinations with personalized experiences, high cleanliness standards and privacy.
According to President of American Express Travel, Audrey Hendley, “travelers are eager to experience the world again and are starting to plan their next once-in-a-lifetime trip. From celebratory moments to relaxing vacation getaways, travel allows us to step away and truly enjoy the simple pleasures in life. We look forward to turning our customers’ dreams into a reality soon.”
