Even though the New 7 Wonder of the World was closed to the public due to sanitary restrictions, travellers from all over the globe still managed to admire the iconic spring equinox via streaming.
Every year on March 21 and September 21 thousands of tourists visit Chichén Itzá to see the descent of Kukulkán, when the sun shines at a particular angle and creates the illusion of a serpent slithering down the temple.
The stream was made by the Cultur Yucatán official Facebook page and reached over 132.000 viewers. The organization closed the virtual event with the hope that the doors of Chichen itzá will be open for the fall equinox.
