Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a new alliance with Japan that includes a US$600.000 investment in Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. 

 

According to the official press release, the Government of Japan will donate US$687,400 to enhance equipment for exhibition at the Interpretation Center of Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary located at the start of the Inca trail. 

 

The main actors of the cooperation agreement were the Japanese Ambassador Kazuyuki Katayama and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Allan Wagner Tizón, who stated that “this important contribution of Japan reflects the high level of relations and friendship that the Governments and peoples of both countries maintain”.
