The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism announced the approval of the national strategy for 2021-2023 to reactivate the tourism industry in the country of Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

In an official press statement, the Ministry pointed out that “this is an important plan that includes a series of measures for the economic reactivation, preservation, and sustainable development of the sector, within the framework of the declaration of the State of National Emergency due to COVID-19. It will be implemented in three years.”

The National Strategy for the Reactivation of Tourism Sector aims at achieving three specific objectives: to develop and strengthen the range of sustainable destinations; position Peru as a destination with safe first-rate tourism products and improve the sector’s competitiveness by strengthening its institutions and the public-private articulation.
