With the case’s regrowth under control, Vietnam’s tourism industry is seeing the expected revival. A recently launched survey showed a horizon full of hope for tourism operators during the summer season in the country of Ha Long Bay, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
According to the survey of 3.500 respondents conducted in a joint work by the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board and the website VnExpress.net, 54% of participants had plans to travel between May and September, while 30% planned to travel in other months.
The results pointed out that among the most requested destinations were Da Nang, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Lao Cai, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan and Quang Ninh, where Ha Long Bay is located.
These results can be read as a consequence of the “Vietnamese people travel to Vietnamese destinations” campaign launched earlier this year by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism which encouraged citizens to travel domestically in order to support the local tourism sector.
