One of the most famous travel fairs in Mexico announced a redesign with new protocols for this year’s edition in order to make it safe for every attendant to promote tourism in the state of Yucatán, home to the New 7 Wonder of the World Chichén Itzá.
The Tourist Tianguis has become Mexico’s most important business forum in the tourism industry and according to the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila, “what we are doing is redesigning the Tianguis, adapting it to the new protocols with the new needs we have”, such as the application of virus detection tests to the attendees.
Vila has also announced the joint work with Secretary of Tourism (Sectur) to carry out the fair, “I met with Miguel Torruco, head of Sectur to discuss strategies and projects that promote tourism in Yucatán, reactivating our economy and generating employment for the Yucatecans”.
While the Tourist Tianguis 2020 was held in March and has brought together the most relevant members in the tourism industry in a virtual platform, this year’s edition will be held in person on September 26-28 and will count with the adequate health and hygiene protocols.
