The Cape Town International Airport reported the highest number of domestic flights since air travel was resumed last June 2020 in the city that hosts Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
The recent data point out that domestic arrivals reached over 60% of 2019 numbers during April, and the sector expects similar numbers in the upcoming months.
According to Economic Opportunities and Asset Management Mayoral Committee Member, James Vos, “more flights means that we can welcome more visitors and create more jobs through tourism and also provide trading opportunities to export more Cape Town products to the rest of the world”.
