It is due to the country’s strategy to control a new coronavirus outbreak, which aims to avoid a rapid case growth by preventively closing famous destinations such as Ha Long Bay, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Quang Ninh authorities announced the sanitary decision after 27 cases were recorded in Hanoi, 150 km away from the province, where previously the government had closed all tourist sites and suspended non-essential services.

These preventive measures were taken after the last national holiday, where nearly 1.5 million passengers passed through the country’s airports, up 30% year-on-year.
