The Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched the 14th five-year plan for the development of the sector for the 2021-2025 period in the home to the Great Wall, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.  

 

According to the official presentation, the plan will aim to boost tourism after the coronavirus pandemic by “advancing social civility, establishing artistic creation systems for a new era, improving the protection, inheritance and utility of cultural heritage, and enhancing the modern tourism system”. 

 

The ministry’s spokesperson, Yan Xiaodong, stressed out that the country will work on the enrichment and improvement of tourist products such as creating new national parks and red tourism routes. “Efforts will be made to provide higher-quality and efficient public cultural services and greater accessibility and sustainability over the next five years” stated Xiaodong at the press conference.
