Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Regional Management reported that over 8.000 foreign tourists and nearly 30.000 national ones visited Cusco’s tourist attractions such as the New 7 Wonder of the World Machu Picchu.

According to Cusco’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Regional manager, Fredy Deza, the most visited destinations were Machu Picchu, Cusco’s Historic Center, and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. He also pointed out that over 90% of international tourists have already been vaccinated and came mainly from the United States and Europe.

Even though in the pre-pandemic Cusco received nearly 3.000 visitors a day, the government and tourist experts are convinced that the country will recover due to the work done to offer security for every visitor as well as to the force of its destinations.
