Even though this was the first year that the carnival was suspended due to the pandemic, authorities are getting ready to hold the celebration next 2022 in the city home of Christ the Redeemer, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
The official announcement was made by the marketing director of the Samba Schools Independent League, Gabriel Oliveira David, on his Twitter account after signing a contract with the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes.
The most famous party in the world will take place between February 25 and March 5 and it is expected to reactivate the economy with over 500 million dollars thanks to the arrival of tourists from all over the world.
Rio’s mayor had previously announced that a trial run for the 2022 Carnaval would be held in the Sambódromo stadium in November this year.
