According to the latest report launched by the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society, the country’s most visited destinations during the first quarter of 2021 were Lima, Ica and Cusco, where the New 7 Wonder of the World -Machu Picchu- is located.

The official report registered that, even though tourist sites received 82% less visitors compared to the same period in 2020, the regions of Lima, Cusco and Ica reached almost 90% of the visits in the country.

The most visited tourist sites in these regions were the Magic Water Circuit, Machu Picchu, the Ballestas Islands National Reserve, the Naciente de Tioyacu tourist recreation center and Colca valley.

This report is a sign of hope for the entire tourism industry, since the number of visitors in the first quarter of the year increased by 9.7% compared to the last quarter of 2020 and this tendency is expected to grow with the vaccination campaign.
