Jordanian authorities revealed the great success achieved by the “UrdunJannah” programme that aimed to encourage domestic tourism in the land of Petra, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, the programme launched by the national government with the goal to boost domestic tourism for Jordanians registered 33,500 participants since the launch of its third season in June. The tourism recovery programme provides free transportation and meals for the participants, as well as a tour guide for each bus.
The programme’s director, Yazan Khdeer, pointed out in a statement that “new destinations have been added to the programme including Jerash and Ajloun, in addition to trips to Tafileh that include camping at Dana Biosphere Reserve and historical sites in Karak”.
