The country that hosts Ha Long Bay, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, surpassed the trial of the pilot launch of digital health passports by Vietnam Airlines between Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport and Tokyo’s Narita airport.
The trial flight is part of the cooperation agreement signed by the national flag carrier and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in May, and will continue until the end of August.
The flights will continue using the application of the IATA Travel Pass, destined to passengers over 18 years old that have a negative coronavirus test results issued by testing facilities registered with IATA.
According to a statement issued by Vietnam Airlines, the compañy hopes that “that the successful test of the electronic health passport will be the basis for the Vietnamese Government to consider officially recognising this mechanism, speeding up the resumption of international flights in the near future”.
