On November 11, the Iguazu Falls will celebrate its tenth anniversary of being chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature by millions of people around the globe from the voting campaign launched by the New7Wonders foundation. The province of Misiones – on the argentinian side of the Falls and where is also located one of the Natural 7 Wonders of Argentina- is already organizing different activities to celebrate the #CataratasDay with tourists from all over the country.
In a joint effort between the Fundación Verde Ecologista and the Ministry of Tourism of the province, next November 7, a trail-type competition will be held with distances of 5, 10 and 21 kilometers for runners from all over the country. It is an event with zero environmental impact since it will be organized based on the principles of Zero Carbon and Zero Waste.
The president of the Foundation, Juan Manuel Velasco, pointed out that with this initiative “we seek that this race is installed in the annual trail calendar with the personality of our main global appeal associated with a message of conservation and regeneration of the nature and the search for sustainability based on a harmonious link with other species and with ecosystems”.
