As summer comes to an end, Mexico reveals the tourism numbers registered during the season and the Yucatan peninsula -where Chichen Itza is located, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World-  was one of the most chosen destinations along the country.

According to the head of the Port Administration, Alicia Ricalde Magaña, Quintana Roo’s Cozumel-Playa del Carmen ferry terminal registered a movement between 9,000 and 11,000 daily passengers.

“Due to the increase in travelers, health and sanitary measures were reinforced to maintain order and above all, reduce the risk of contagion of the virus”, stated Ricalde to the press and explained that even though the season is coming to and end, the terminal is still receiving nearly 7,500 passengers per day which brings hope for the next months.
