In an official act led by the President Alberto Fernández, the Argentine government presented the new edition of the PreViaje programme from the Iguazú Falls, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
During the official act, Fernández stated how happy he was “with the relaunch of PreViaje, which had a very successful first edition during last summer. Today we are taking a big step on the road to restarting tourism, promoting people to enjoy our land again”.
On his part, during the presentation the minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens, pointed out that “this program reflects the federal perspective of our government. Tourism is a determining factor for regional economies and I am convinced that it will be an engine of development for the next few years”.
The PreViaje programme was born with the aim of boosting the demand for domestic tourism and the economy by granting credits for the value of 50% of the purchases made by tourists. The credit may be used between November 2021 and December 2022, at any tourism provider throughout the country.
On its first edition, the programme generated more than US$ 140 million that were injected into the tourism sector, and benefited more than 600,000 travelers and registered more than 100,000 participating businesses.
