As a way to promote Mexico’s cultural heritage, the home of Chichén Itzá, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, launched the Yucatan Cultural Autumn art festival with over 80 free access events.
According to the event organization, there will be a total of 83 free access activities in Hunucmá, Izamal, Mérida, Motul, Progreso, Tecoh and Valladolid, and it will have the participation of 529 theater, dance, music, and literary artists. The festival will have an investment of over one million pesos and is part of the Yucatecan programme Support for Cultural and Artistic Festivals (Profest) 2021.
The traditional festival received its first attendants last October 13 and will last until the end of month with activities all along the state of Yucatan. The Secretary of Culture and Arts also announced broadcasts on the Facebook and Zoom digital platforms for those unable to attend.
