2021 was a good year for Peru since the country won four accolades in the latest edition of the World Travel Awards, including South America’s Leading Tourist Attraction for Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Perú also won the categories of South America’s Leading Culinary Destination, South America’s Leading Cultural Destination and South America’s Leading Tourist Board for PromPeru.

According to the Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Roberto Sanchez, “the awards granted to our country reaffirm the tourism-related positioning of Peru in the world as a destination relying on vast cultural and natural wealth, in addition to highlighting the magnificence of Machu Picchu as a leading tourist destination in the region and (PromPeru) as leading State-run agency in promoting tourism”.
