As a way to continue promoting tourism at the home of the Puerto Princesa Underground River, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, the local government announced free swab tests for local tourists.
The decision was launched by the Department of Tourism and is framed under the new phase of the DOT’s financial subsidy program with the Tourism Promotions Board. The government will grant a total of 350 free RT-PCR tests at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center from November.
According to Tourism Secretary, Berna Romulo-Puyat, “as travel restrictions continue to ease up, we aim to encourage more tourists to visit their destination of choice by providing a full subsidy on RT-PCR testing. This program helps ensure the safety of tourists, tourism workers, and local stakeholders in various destinations.”
