In a historical first, the New7Wonders Foundation participated by video link in a special session of the Congress of Peru that honoured the 10th anniversary of the Peruvian Amazon as a New 7 Wonder of Nature.
The Peruvian Congress organised a meeting of the Commission for External Commerce and Tourism in the city of Pucallpa, in the amazonian Ucayali region, specially dedicated to discuss the unique Wonder status of the Peruvian Amazon on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
The Director of New7Wonders, Jean-Paul de la Fuente, participated via live video link from Misiones province, Argentina, where he was attending the 10th anniversary celebrations for Iguazu Falls. Themes covered included the importance of the “wonder effect” as a central part of the tourism, economic and social recovery post-pandemic.
