As a symbolic message to the world, children from the School 807 of Puerto Iguazú, in the Fortín Mbororé community, which is itself located within the Iguazu natural area, planted trees to honour the 10th anniversary of the official New 7 Wonders of Nature announcement on 11 November of 2011.
One tree each was planted for each of the natural Wonders, with their national flag beside it. The ceremony was attended by the Director of New7Wonders, Jean-Paul de la Fuente, the Executive Coordinator of New7Wonders, Mariana Fried, the Coordinator of the Iguazu Falls campaign and Director of Visit7Wonders, Marcelo Almada, and by the Minister of Tourism of Misiones Province, José María Arrúa.
The school will take care of the trees and also use them as an educational tool going forwards, both in terms of sustainability as well as to discuss the global New7Wonders movement.
