In addition to having one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature -the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu and the Amazon-, Peru will be part of the new project launched by New7Wonders that will seek to build a strategic and multi-sector approach to growth and development for the Wonders.
The objective is to work with all sectors, both public and private, so that the Peruvian Wonders become a source of economic growth, employment, education, infrastructure and culture.
According to Jean Paul de la Fuente, the Director of New7Wonders during official visits to Machu Picchu, the Amazon and the Peruvian capital Lima, “Peru is in a unique situation in the world, because it is home to two of the world-voted Wonders, and we believe that the Peru Estrategia Maravilla project will create significant positive and intelligent growth opportunities”.
During the official visit the Congress of Peru issued a multi-party official motion recognising the positive impact of New7Wonders to the nation.
