The state of Yucatán not only hosts the New 7 Wonder of the World of Chichén Itzá, but also from January 5 to 24 will host the Mérida Fest 2022, a celebration of Mexican culture.

According to the official presentation made by the City Council, the 18 days festival will have theatrical plays, circus shows, dance, music, cinema, literature, visual arts, children’s shows, gastronomy, academic colloquium, and digital projects.

The date of start of the festival matches the 480th anniversary of the Yucatecan capital foundation and will begin with the typical “Mañanitas” that will be streamed online for those unable to attend, since the capacity will be limited to 400 people. Because of the new outbreak, of a total of 220 shows, 145 will be hosted in person and 75 will be entirely online.
