As the latest outbreak goes under control, the Cape Town International Airport registered a 58% increase in the passengers’ arrival to the home of Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
According to the numbers registered by the City of Cape Town (COCT), 733.207 domestic tourists arrived in the Mother City during the last three months of 2021 where the flight movements rose to 184 per day.
In this sense, the local government highlights the importance of Cape Town Air Access, an air-route development project that is the result of a partnership between six government entities. Air Access is responsible for establishing direct flights that connect Cape Town and the Western Cape with the rest of the world, and has helped to establish 19 new routes and 23 route expansions and added 1,5 million passenger seats.
