Between January and October 2022, internal and receptive tourism in Bolivia generated an economic movement of around USD 622 million, which was confirmed by President Luis Arce.
On National Tourism Day, Arce ensured his commitment to work for this sector, which is one of the key pillars for economic reconstruction. “Until October 2022, thanks to our tourism promotion policy, tourism generated more than Bs 4,307 million” he highlighted.
These positive figures are due to the policies applied by the national government, which in April last year ordered new epidemiological surveillance measures against COVID-19 to facilitate the entry of tourists into the country.
With the so-called Bicentennial National Strategic Plan, the Government plans to promote two hundred tourist destinations. Thus, the program “200 years 200 tourist destinations in Bolivia” aims to identify destinations and tourist circuits in all corners of the country, on the way to the year 2025.
One of the most recognized destinations in Bolivia is La Paz, the highest altitude capital in the world and officially recognized as one of the 7 Wonders New Cities along with Vigan, Doha, Durban, Havana and Kuala Lumpur. Two other Bolivian destinations with a large tourist flow are the Salar de Uyuni and the Madidi National Park; Lake Titicaca, considered the highest and most navigable in the world, and the Sajama National Park, with viewpoints that seem to touch the sky. The panorama is completed with colonial churches, geysers, hot springs, Andean fauna and community shelters.
The Bicentennial National Strategic Plan, “The Bolivia we dream of by 2025″‘, is the result of collective construction that underpins development with mega-projects and actions on the path of growth envisaged by the Government.
