Iguazu Falls celebrates 12 years since that memorable November 11 when it was named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. As every year, the city of Puerto Iguazu celebrates with various promotional actions this significant event for all the people of Misiones.

The activities will begin on Friday, November 10 with the “Launch of the Sustainable Events Manual and Presentation of the Results of the ActivAR+ Plan” led by the Undersecretariat of Tourist Promotion through the National Directorate of National Holidays and Events, at the Iguazu Tourism Municipal Entity (ITUREM) on Av. Victoria Aguirre No. 337.

Following this, the Undersecretary of Tourist Promotion and New Products of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, Lisandro Pérez Losinno, will present the book “PreViaje: a management model” which evaluates, analyzes, and provides statistics of the most significant public policy in the history of Argentine tourism.

The V Conference on Tourist Accessibility will take place on the same Friday at 3 pm in the hall of the Iguazu Hotel, Gastronomic and Related Association (AHGAI) – Los Cedros 287. This event will provide the appropriate space to foster the exchange of experiences in the tourism sector in the construction of components of Inclusive Tourist Accessibility, starting from an integral, academic framework, with the presentation of offers not only in the economic field but also related to acceptance, tolerance, respect, and even rights.

At the end of the conference, certificates will be awarded to the Mbya youth in Tourism who participated in the English workshop with the Mariano W. Pachecoy Institute.

At 5 pm, with limited places available at the Hotel O2, there will be a conversation with the Argentine Designer, Marcelo Senra, who will be able to share a talk with those interested in the world of design. He is an architect and designer whose style exalts ethnographic textiles and translates them into Prêt-à-porter tailoring – as well as custom designs.

From 9 pm on the Brazil Street Pedestrian area of Puerto Iguazu along with the Misionero Design Route, coordinated and directed by Karina González, they will pay tribute and give thanks to the mother earth of Misiones for providing all the necessary resources to live and generate fashion with awareness of planet care focused on sustainability and authenticity. The current ambassador is Designer María Eugenia Chacón from the town of Puerto Esperanza, who will be in charge of opening the catwalk of this edition with her brand “Pide un Deseo” (Make a Wish).

The show will feature special participation on the catwalk by the finalist designers of the year 2022: Silvana Paniagua: “Silvana by Oli” and Lorena Omiñuka: “URU Author’s Clothing”. And with only 7 years, the youngest designer in Argentina, Luciano Grigioni, will present an exclusive design worn by the model Bianca Ramos. To end the day, the grand finale of this 2023 edition of the Misionero Design Route in the context of Cataratas Day will be in the hands of the special guest Marcelo Senra.

In addition to all the scheduled in-person activities, we celebrate together with Aerolineas Argentinas, Iguazu National Park, and Iguazu Jungle with free park entrance and a 20% discount on the nautical activity “La Gran Aventura” for the first 100 people who buy their air tickets on November 11 to Puerto Iguazu for travel from 12/1/2023 to 3/31/2024. To conclude the series of activities framed in the 12th edition of Cataratas Day, together with the Association of Hoteliers, Gastronomists and Related of Iguazu (AHGAI), a regional gastronomy workshop will be held at “Salto Ramírez” located in the upper circuit of the Iguazu National Park by the winner of, an activity in which the same visitors who want to learn to cook the delicacies that Misiones offers to the world will participate. At the beginning of the day and simultaneously with this activity, tourists visiting the Iguazu National Park will be invited to participate in a raffle using the Instagram filter related to the day with the hashtag #CATARATASDAY2023.
