The resumption of aerial connections from South Korea to Puerto Princesa will be held next year through the first and largest low-cost airline Jeju Air, according to a senior city tourism official.

This event occurs after Jeju Air executives, whose name is synonymous with the popular tourist destination, the island of Jeju, visited Puerto Princesa in September 2023.

The head of the City Tourism Office (CTO), Demetrio Alvior Jr., told Palawan News that Jeju Air’s national director visited the country on September 18, accompanied by two officials from the South Korean government responsible for Process visas and facilitate employment for those interested in working there.

During his tour to evaluate the tourism situation, the results were positive, since Jeju Air’s office made a call on September 21 requesting a list of hotels. Alvior said that this is because Puerto Princesa is a higher priority for the reopening of aerial connections.

Alvior mentioned that Jeju Air’s senior executives like Port Princesa due to the abundance of “excellent” food establishments, in addition to other characteristics that make destiny an unmissable place.

He also explained that any delay, if any, would only occur due to the application process of the low -cost airline to access the city.

According to experience, he said that delays in document processing are the common reasons for prolonged waiting for the opening of international flights. Perp stressed that “the interest is 100%, and it only depends on the capacity of the process and the requirements of the process,” he said.

Alvior also pointed out that one of the issues discussed was how the Jeju Air flight crew accommodation would be handled in case of adverse climatic conditions or other interruptions.

And he affirmed in that sense, that the city of Puerto Princesa is totally able to manage it, especially with the planned opening of several new hotels.

Finally, he said that Puerto Princesa is looking forward to the concretion of this flight that one two tourist destinations – Puerto Princesa Underground River and Jeju Island, that have been voted “New 7 Wonders of Nature.”
