The Amerigo Vespucci training ship, the most beautiful and oldest of the Italian Military Navy, set sail in July 2023 from the port of Genoa (northern Italy) to undertake a world tour in which it will travel through three oceans, five continents and dock in 28 countries. for 2 years.

In the month of March she was in Buenos Aires, where she excelled promoting tourism and Italian culture, and then continued with her world tour.

The Argentine civil and military authorities and the Italian ambassador in Buenos Aires, Fabrizio Lucentini, welcomed the Vespucci crew. The special occasion that represents the Argentine stage of the Vespucci World Tour, had the participation of the Italian Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanche, who in her greeting to the guests highlighted “the Vespucci, symbol of ‘Made in Italy’ that crosses seas and oceans and engine of the Italian economy and culture, represents a unique opportunity both to promote and strengthen the Italy brand abroad, and to create the conditions for future international collaborations also in the tourism sector. The arrival of the sailboat to Argentina -country where one of the largest Italian communities resides – occurs in the year of tourism with Italian roots in the world, which makes the event even more significant, because it will be able to provide an important contribution both in the consolidation of the great friendship between Italy and Argentina, as well as the increase in tourist flows between both nations.”

A Talk Show was held for the Argentine public, in which the Italian authorities present for the occasion participated and where the reasons for the international Vespucci World Tour project, strongly supported by the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, were illustrated. Also illustrated are future tour stops that will include Villaggio Italia, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Darwin, Singapore, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Jeddah.

The Vespucci World Tour is an initiative created in collaboration with Difesa Servizi SpA, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense, which supports all phases of the campaign and has the active participation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, together with the Minister of Civil Protection and Maritime Policies and the Minister of Sports and Youth – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security.

The Nave Vespucci World Tour will touch all five continents and reach around 30 ports. During the trip, the traditional training activity of officer students will be combined with the promotion of tourism and Italian excellence in the world.
