As a result of the intense work agenda of the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation Daniel Scioli and the Undersecretary Yanina Martínez at the WTM Brazil Fair, held in mid-April in Brazil, the return of a Brazilian airline that It will connect San Pablo with the Patagonian city of Bariloche and both the Gol firm and Aerolíneas Argentinas will increase frequencies and flights.
The agenda also included the launch of the snow season, meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, and business associations from the main source market.
The Secretary of Tourism and the Undersecretary of Tourism traveled to São Paulo to participate in the WTM Latin America Brazil Fair with the objective of sustaining Argentina’s institutional presence in that market, the most significant for national inbound tourism, and interacting with the main players in the sector.
During the first day of the Fair, Argentine officials led the launch of the snow season, meetings with airline representatives, meetings with tour operators CVC, Despegar Brasil and Cruceros Clía.
The agreement with Azul Linhas Aéreas confirms the company’s return to Argentina after four years. It will link the destinations of San Pablo and Bariloche with a frequency of 5 weekly flights, starting at the end of July.
A meeting was also held with representatives of the company Gol, a company that transported 7.8 million passengers in the first quarter of the year, and the increase in weekly frequencies to 60 in low season and 120 in high season was defined. In addition, there will be 3 new flights for the Belo Horizonte–Buenos Aires route. While Aerolíneas Argentinas will reach a total of 15 daily flights with Brazilian destinations.
The advertisements have strategic importance since Brazil constitutes a priority market, the one that contributes the most to national inbound tourism. Between January and March of this year, more than 390 thousand tourists from Brazil visited the country, 31 percent more than the same period in 2023, which represented an income of more than 300 million dollars.
Scioli and Martínez also held institutional meetings with the Vice Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Ana Carla Machado Lopes, and the Secretary of Tourism of São Paulo, Roberto de Lucena.
The WTM Latin America Brazil Fair was attended by an estimated 27 thousand professionals from the sector and 620 exhibiting companies.
